"...without shedding of blood there is no remission (taking away of sin)." (Hebrews 9:22b) The blood must be shed by a perfect person. That lets us know we can not pay for our own sin because--we’re not perfect! We would have to die and go to Hell, another real place. No one wants to go to Hell because it is a place of fire and people who go there never get out! What good would that do? If we can not make ourselves perfect, how can we get our sins forgiven? We don’t need to worry. God planned the way to Heaven. "For He (that is God) hath made him (this is Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (II Corinthians 5:21). God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to die on the cross to pay for the sin of the whole world. Jesus could do it because He is perfect! Jesus never sinned, not one time. That means Jesus was "righteous". Whew! That’s a big word, isn’t it. "Righteous" means the same thing as "perfect". We know Jesus Christ is perfect and righteous, no sin at all. We know He died on the cross to pay for the sin of the world. He made the sacrifice with His own perfect blood. Now sin is paid for. Now sin is forgiven. But, how can we get Jesus’ righteousness for ourselves? How can we be perfect? How can we have our sins forgiven so we won’t be punished forever in Hell? We want to live forever in God’s perfect Heaven. Click here to find out! |
