It’s a gift! Jesus did it for us and He gives it to us--free! Can you pay someone for a gift? No, then it would not be a gift--it would be something you bought. Can you work for a gift? No! How do you receive the gift of everlasting life? Believe that when Jesus Christ died for the sin of the world by shedding His perfect blood, He paid for your sin too. The Bible word "believe" means that you have trusted Jesus Christ as your sin payment, and you don’t think there is anything else you can do that will earn you Heaven. When you believe that Jesus Christ died FOR YOU, He gives you His righteousness as a free gift. Your sins are forgiven, right then. You do not have to be baptized, confirmed, confess your sins, or make God any promises. Do you believe this? If you do, you have everlasting life, right now. You are on your way to Heaven!
"For God so loved the world (this is you.) that he gave his only begotten Son, (to die on the cross as your payment for sin.) that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, (I won’t be punished as a sinner in Hell.) but have everlasting life (in Heaven)." (John 3:16). "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
