Dan
Adams...my best friend and one of the few pastors straight on the Gospel. In fact,
he was quite a contender for the "faith once de-livered to the saints," in the pulpit,
everywhere he went, and on the printed page.
Few people
knew what an accom-plished writer Dan was. He never thought so, but he surely was.
He had been writing articles for local newspapers refuting false doctrine and he sent them
to me. I really enjoyed reading them.
He also had
a correspondence going with certain teachers of the newest false doctrine Satan has coming
out, the "crossless Gospel." Actually, without the cross, you have no Gospel.
You have to accept the payment that Jesus Christ made on the cross to have eternal
life. Dan knew that. Dan had dedicated his life to keeping Scripture straight and
making the Gospel clear and he was not going to let this go by unchallenged. We had
much conversation about this and other points of Scripture.
Dan has
"rescued" me from the predicaments I have gotten into while hunting, put up with me when I
just want to get away from things for a while, and has been my true Christian friend
through "thick and thin." He was the brother I never had.
Until we
meet again, "When we all get to Heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be.
It's not "Good Bye"...
Just..."So Long,..
For a while."
We continue to send our thoughts and prayers to the
families and friends of these two great Servants of the Lord as they endeavor to carry on
the work.
We also pray for the Directors, Speakers, and Counselors
of this year's
Good News Bible Camp. May they have a safe
encampment and many souls for Heaven.

Danny "Barney" Adams, Jr
Welcomed to Heaven
March 16, 2008
When the
Good News Bible Camp opens for its first day of fun this year, this friendly, personable
young man will be greatly missed.
Barney
loved cooking at the camp because he was serving the Lord. He was always ready to
listen to a camper's memory verse, play with the kids, teach a lesson, or lead a child to
the Lord.
He was a
hard worker and logged in woods. Barney had many talents. Who knew he could cook?
He also was a fine carpenter.
As a friend
of his commented, he lived by the seasons: elk season, deer season, bear season, and
fishing opener. But, with Barney, it was always open season to give out the gospel.
He was quite a man!
He was like
a son to me. We often had long conversations after hours at Barney's on The
Bowstring, the resort which he and Julie operated. He would never take a dime from
me. There was always a stack of Heaven Tracts by the cash register. He didn't
let his work or many interests get in the way of serving His Lord.
Barney's
death would truly be a tragedy if he had not trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior.
That is why I know we'll meet again; then, "When we all see Jesus, We will all sing and
shout the victory!"
Amazing Grace,
Shall always be my song of praise
For it was grace
That brought me liberty,
I do not know,
Just why He came to love me so
He looked beyond
My fault and saw my need
I shall forever
Lift mine eyes to Calvary,
To view the cross,
Where Jesus died for me -
How marvelous, His grace
That caught my falling soul -
He Looked beyond
My fault and saw my need.
(He Looked Beyond My Fault, Words by Dottie Rambo,
The tune is "Danny Boy" or "Londonderry Air').
From the Families of Dan and
Barney,
"If tears could build a
stairway
and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say, "Goodbye."
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness
and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you-
no one will ever know.
But now I know you want me
to weep for you no more;
To remember all the happy times,
life still has more in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten,
I pledge to you today-
A hollowed place within my heart
is where you'll always stay."
